Hello, I’m, April Arellano and I want to serve you as Village Clerk. I currently serve as your
Deputy Village Clerk and I want to continue to serve Franklin Park residents by increasing
communication and maintaining transparency between the residents and Village government.
I am a member of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois and regularly attend courses and meetings to stay
current within the role of the Clerk. My dream has been to serve in local government.
With the mentorship of the current Village Clerk and longtime public
servant, Roberta Johnson, I strongly believe that I have grown into the role of Clerk.
Prior to serving as Deputy Clerk, I worked extensively in the legal field as a paralegal.
In both this and my current role I have developed a great sense of understanding that I now use to
best serve the people’s needs.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Lake Forest College. My family and
I are proud to call Franklin Park home. I take pride in promoting the importance of both voting and
government service to young adults. I have conducted various voter registration drives.
